This week I was in Rutland, Vermont, speaking at the Walk-Bike Summit. I actually had three lectures there. I spoke for 10 minutes on a plenary panel before 175 participants, and later, I had two other hour-long presentations about: 1. Economic benefits of long distance bike tourism and 2. Technical aspects of WalkScore.com in pricing real estate, selling houses near rail trails and other bike friendly infrastructure, and what happens when Complete Streets projects come to communities.
Several years ago I wrote a report for the Massachusetts Multiple Listing Service–MLSPIN that showed that houses near rail trails sold better than the general inventory in several communities in eastern Massachusetts. Click here on the image to the right to see the full report.
